In a quasi-Baroque style, Apollo’s Trance opens with a main theme which is repeated against a countering bass voice before reiterating the theme at a new pitch register. The composition was inspired by the desire to introduce students to new musical devices without exceeding the demands of an advanced beginner level duet.
