At the time of composing the carol, Dix worked as an insurance company manager and had been struck by a severe illness. While recovering, he underwent a spiritual renewal that led him to write several hymns, including lyrics to this carol that was subsequently set to the tune of Greensleeves, a traditional English folk song.

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.774389 By Bob Crosby And His Orchestra. By Bob Haggart. Arranged by Brad Esbensen. Contemporary,Jazz,Standards. 54 pages. Brad Esbensen Music Services #4283067. Published by Brad Esbensen Music Services (A0.774389). What's New?, arranged in the key of G major, is a beautiful ballad that makes a great feature for vocalist and ensemble alike. The trumpets will require Harmon mutes in addition to the cup mutes required by the entire brass section. If mutes are not available have the sections play deep into their stands. The ensemble section requires a big ensemble sound and 1st Trumpet goes up to D6. Rhythm section parts are fully notated throughout. I hope you enjoy performing this chart and if you would like it transposed into another key, please e-mail me at brad@bemus.com.au. www.bemus.com.au

Jazz Ensemble - Level 3 - Interactive Download SKU: A0.1118833 By Miles Davis. By Miles Davis. Arranged by Jan Erik Paulsen. This edition: Interactive Download. Jazz. Score and parts. 98 pages. Duration 418. Jan Erik Paulsen #dridYor4hhatM4MmDeSkr. Published by Jan Erik Paulsen (A0.1118833). Key: C major. This is a relatively easy-to-play big band arrangement of an iconic tune by Miles Davis from the album Kind of blue. So What is the earliest and most excellent example of modal jazz, which is more based on scales than chords. The scales applied are D-Dorian and Eb-Dorian. This opens for the solo player to concentrate on the melodic direction rather than be guided by chords. Hence, the soloists in this arrangement should practice their improvisations in D-Dorian (Dm7) and Eb-Dorian (Ebm7). The arrangement would be useful for amateurs, student big bands and even professional big bands with a Miles Davis project on the repertoire.

Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1283017 By Jeremy Jordan. By Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rodgers. Arranged by Alex Sears. Broadway,Jazz,Musical/Show,Standards. Score and Parts. 49 pages. Alex Sears #874309. Published by Alex Sears (A0.1283017). Inspired by Ray Charles and his Orchestra, this arrangement of Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin' is a great way to feature your star trombonist with your big band. This feature allows the trombonist to play the part of Ray Charles throughout the first verse and chorus before allowing space for a trumpet soloist to take the second verse. A harmonized saxophone soli leads the ensemble to an open solo section with lots of space for improvisation before taking things out in the style of Ray Charles with a traditional ending. Written in the keys of Eb & F for traditional jazz band (5 saxes, 5 trumpets, 4 trombones, rhythm section). Lead trumpet written up to B5 (with an optional F6). Perfect for the advanced high school or college level ensemble!
