It opens with a fanfare-like passage for saxes, followed by trumpets and trombones, before getting into the swinging blues groove. After the first two choruses, the opening returns as a bridge passage before the open for solos middle section.Solos are based on a 12 bar blues pattern and should be 24 bars long. A sample written out solo is included in Tenor Sax 1 and Trombone 2, for those who are less confident at improvising.
