A dramatic, harmonically captivating conclusion wraps things up. Top trumpet note is a very modest A5. Chord changes are provided in all parts for soloing. Swingin’ in a Sinatra big band style! This Hammerstein / Kern masterpiece was arranged in the late 1980s for the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra (then under the direction of famed trombonist Buddy Morrow). An enduring chart – it continues to be performed by the band’s vocalists today. Vocal range: B-flat 2 to E-flat 4 (optional F 4, last note). Brass high note: Trumpet D 6; Trombone G 4.
