There are a lot of composer indications. The harmonies are quite adventurous and the part writing well thought out. The intro could most likely be rhythmically free until the head (B section) of the tune.

It's a fun and challenging tune, with changing time signatures. The open soloing section has backings for saxes & trombones, to be played as directed. Published by Cameron Carlson (A0.1518366). Subterranean is a modern-fusion groove in 7/8, delivering groove from the rhythm section and heavy sounds in the horns. The song is mainly a feature for the rhythm section but features solos from either Alto, Tenor, Bari, or Trombone for the solo section. The song jumps into 6/8 for the rhythm section bridge, featuring Keyboard and Guitar solos. The finale is a double-time feel in 5/8, with a unison line between Bari and Bass, inspired by saxophonist Leo P. This is no walk in the park for trumpets, as the lead gets up to F above the staff. 8vb if necessary.
