Scott Joplin's classic piano rag, The Entertainer, was originally written in 1902 as a rag time two step, being a form of popular dance for the time. This arrangement begins in a similar fashion to the original, mainly featuring the piano, with the rest of the band lightly supporting the iconic melody. As the piece progresses, it gradually builds into a big band style, whilst still retaining the well known theme.
