This is the traditional baseball theme (Take Me Out to the Ballgame) set in an energetic jazz band swing chart. After a brief intro to lay it down, the melody starts in a lazy swing tempo with a lilting alto solo (a-la street player in front of the park) and soon builds to a full ensemble shout then a lively up-tempo accentuated by energetic interjections.  There is an open solo section before the head is repeated with a typical Tin-Pan-Alley ending.  Logical rehearsal marks and generous technique items make rehearsal a snap!  Ossia notes (lead trumpet) are included for developing / younger artists.  This is a super-duper exciting and moderately challenging chart which really showcases your band and the jazz band at its very finest.  The included MIDI playback file here is taken from the original layout in an effort to show the most accurate portrayal of this arrangement.

This arrangement of a Duke’s “Just Squeeze Me†is written for an emerging beginner-to-intermediate jazz ensemble. Featuring solo piano with everything written out for the learning young player: including suggested comping and an optional written solo. In addition to this, a soli quartet consisting of all lead horn players will allow these voices to shine as they tackle more complicated rhythms and style. The soloist ensemble writing plus the key change near the end will provide ample challenges for your high school or younger college ensemble to work on as they develop their sense of swing. The first track on The Temptations in a Mellow Mood, an album released as a crossover to white audiences, this classic Rodgers & Hammerstein tune is a great example of The Temptations close harmony skills. This is an arrangement for Big Band with Solo Male Vocal and TTBB, playable by intermediate ensembles and transcribed note for note from the recording.

Starting in a Latin style reminiscent of Manteca, this arrangement is mainly in a big band swing style and briefly transitions to a jazz waltz in the middle section. Due to the vocals being featured, the horns are used sparsely and there are few sections where extended rehearsal is needed. Although the album itself doesn't break down who arranged this initially, it more than likely is an Oliver Nelson creation.

Beautifully laid out in A4 size, the score and parts are easy to read and available NOW for digital download. We suggest you print on 80gsm paper, to ensure that the copies last longer in your bands library. If you're printing on letter size paper, please fit to page when sending to the printer.
