The original song was first recorded by Vaughn Monroe & his orchestra and later that year by The Chordettes and The Four Aces. Other versions of the song have been recorded by Chet Atkins, Bert Kaempfert, Emmylou Harris and others.
The popular Christmas rendition was first recorded by Dorothy Collins with Chorus and Orchestra in 1955. Since then, it has been recorded and performed by a variety of artists world-wide.
