Ukulele - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1151103 By Michael P Walker. By Francesco Molino. Arranged by Michael P Walker. 19th Century,Classical. Score. 53 pages. Michael P Walker #751283. Published by Michael P Walker (A0.1151103). Who would have thought you could play classical music on a ukulele? But you can! Francesco Molino was an Italian musician and composer, born at Ivrea near Turin on 4 June 1768. At the age of fifteen, in 1783, he enrolled in the band of the Piedmont Regiment as an oboist, a post from which he resigned in 1793. He often traveled to Spain to give concerts. From 1786 to 1789, he played the viola in the orchestra of the Teatro Regio in Turin, and from 1814 to 1818, he was employed in the royal chapel in Turin. By 1817 he had published two guitar methods. Then in about 1820, he moved to Paris where he was very active as a teacher and composer, until his death there in 1847. His works were largely neglected until the twentieth century when many of them were republished. Have fun! Along with this book, there are more than 80 books of arrangements of Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic era music for the baritone ukulele and there are more than Sixty-five others with arrangements for the Low G ukulele. Ukulele - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1148100 By Michael P Walker. By Melchioro de Barberis and Giacomo Gorzanis. Arranged by Michael P Walker. Classical,Renaissance. Score. 33 pages. Michael P Walker #748290. Published by Michael P Walker (A0.1148100). Melchior de Barberis (1500-1549) was an Italian lutenist and composer. His book Opera Intitolata Contina was published in Venice in 1549. Most of the book is dedicated to the lute, but the final few pages of the book contain 4 pieces (fantasias) for the renaissance guitar. Barberis refers to the instrument as the chitara da sette corde (guitar with seven strings). Giacomo Gorzanis, (1525 – 1578), was a lute virtuoso, blind, and possibly a member of the nobility. He was born in Apulia, near Naples, and probably trained at the Spanish court in Bari. Gorzanis traveled to Austria where he became a citizen and where he published four collections of lute tablature and two collections of Neapolitan lute songs. About Michael P Walker I studied guitar at Birmingham-Southern College under David Walpert who was a student of Andre Segovia and I have been playing guitar, ukulele, Baroque guitar, and the lute for more than fifty years. Just as Adrian Le Roy published these pieces to expand the repertoire of the Renaissance guitar, I have transcribed these compositions with the hope of exposing this rich, beautiful music from the Renaissance to a wider audience of guitar and ukulele players. Along with this book, there are more than 80 books of arrangements of Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, and Romantic era music for the baritone ukulele and there are more than Thirty-Five others with arrangements for the Low G ukulele. Ukulele - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.892578 By John Denver. By David Leslie Froggatt, Jane Barnes, and Johnny Marks. Arranged by Ben Garraway. Rock. Score. 11 pages. Music Lesson Downloads #5793221. Published by Music Lesson Downloads (A0.892578). Here's a fun version of this Christmas classic. It has a melody, an easy accompaniment and some chords. Ideal for a school assembly or concert. The 2 main parts are approx. grade 1-2 but as children know this it's probably easier to master than that. The chords could be played by more of a beginner. Why not add some bells and percussion and make it into a whole class or ensemble performance. There's a 5 page score and then there are parts in both TAB and notation.

Ukulele - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1116934 By Michael P Walker. By Julian Arcas. Arranged by Michael P Walker. 19th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. Score. 41 pages. Michael P Walker #718582. Published by Michael P Walker (A0.1116934). Who would have thought you could play classical music on a ukulele? But you can! Here are compositions from the 19th Century – the Romantic Era – transcribed for the Low G ukulele. Julián Arcas (1832-1882) was a Spanish classical guitarist and composer. He was born in Almería and died in Antequera, Spain. Arcas performed all over Europe from 1860 through 1880 where a young Francisco Tárrega listened to him in 1862 in Castellón and played for him after the performance. Arcas then invited Tárrega to study with him in Barcelona. Arcas wrote fifty-two original works and transcribed thirty pieces for the guitar, including waltzes, variations, preludes, and dances. Through the work of the guitar maker Antonio de Torres, Arcas influenced the development of the classical guitar, particularly concerning the design of the soundboard. These pieces are somewhat more complex and are for intermediate to advanced players. Have fun!
