This setting of the Alleluia by Luke Mayernik is primarily for cantor, assembly, and organ, although there is an optional descant for the refrain. Composed Gospel acclamation verses are provided for Advent and the Christmas season, and there are additional verses for Ordinary Time, Weddings, Easter, Ascension, and Pentecost. The Five Graces title marks this as a companion to the composer's complete set of Lectionary Psalms, The Five Graces Psalter, and it has in common with those settings a fresh, interesting melody and a rich harmonic palette.

Composed by Richard Cook, New Sunday Psalms is a modern collection of musical Psalm Settings paralleling the Book of Common Prayer for each Sunday in Years A, B and C.

The refrain melodies are singable, making them easy to learn for Cantor, Unison Choir and/or Congregation with organ or piano accompaniment. The basic structure of each setting follows this pattern; A refrain is created from one of the verses in the Psalm. The refrain is sung first. Then the Cantor proceeds to chant the verses in traditional manner with the refrain inserted as the score indicates.

With rehearsal time always a challenge, these Psalm Settings can be learned quickly, even with inexperienced singers, leaving more rehearsal time for preparing Offertory Anthems and other music. Though New Sunday Psalms are easily learned, they offer themselves as well-rehearsed substantial compositions.

New Sunday Psalms were first used as they were being composed at St. George's Episcopal Church in Laguna Hills, CA, where Mr. Cook is Music Director and Composer in Residence.

Chaplet of the Holy Face is a musical setting of the text of a Catholic devotion known by the same title.  Based on Psalm 68:1, Arise, O Lord and let Thy enemies be scattered, six invocations of this Psalm verse is alternated with the Gloria Patri five times, and concludes with the Psalm verse sung three times, in honor of the 3 year public life of Jesus Christ. The text is sung in reparation for sins that most offend God, the disfiguring facial wounds which Jesus received during His sacred Passion, and to repel and defeat God's enemies. Devotees of the Holy Face Devotion will especially appreciate this powerful work.  
This versatile piece may be performed in a number of ways; with a solo voice throughout, a soloist or cantor and group of singers, or for choral singing. The accompaniment will work equally well played on piano or organ, or it could even be sung unaccompanied. It would also be effective sung by a treble or youth choir alternating verses with an adult choir. Suitable for public performance or personal devotional use.
