Choral Choir (Unison) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.730918 Composed by Latin American Folk Song. Arranged by Sarah Martinez. Children,Folk,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Octavo. 3 pages. Sarah Martinez #339175. Published by Sarah Martinez (A0.730918). This arrangement of Alfonso XII has been adapted for unison chorus and set to a piano accompaniment. This song tells a story about Alfonso XII, King of Spain from December 1874 until his death in November 1885. It is a song tale known in many Latin American countries. As is typical of folk songs, there are many popular variations and additional verses. English translation: Where are you going, Alfonso XII? Where are you going so sadly? I am looking for Mercedes because I lost her yesterday. Mercedes is already dead, and it's true because I saw her. Four dukes carried her through the streets of Madrid. The lanterns of the castle no longer want to light, Because Mercedes has died, and they are in mourning. Poor little Mercedes, she died like a flower. Similar arrangements for SATB, SAB, TB, and 2-part choirs are also available. You may also find this song under the alternate title ¿Dónde vas, Alfonso Doce?.

Choral Choir (Unison) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1192227 Composed by Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. Arranged by Paul W. Allen. Historic,Instructional,Standards. Octavo. 5 pages. Allen/Myer Musicals #791696. Published by Allen/Myer Musicals (A0.1192227). The movie Star Spangled Rhythm featured many standard swing hits including this upbeat tune.  In the movie, it was a love duet sung very quickly between Mary Martin and Dick Powers, followed by an even lively African-American quartet trying to get the couple out of the bar and to their rooms so the place can be closed for the night.  In the intervening time, the tune has been re-established as a lullaby at a much slower tempo, which this arrangement replicates.  Here it is cast for a full 6-octave handbell choir, with or without voice, and has among other distinctions the unresolved closing chords.  This is a sure hit for ringers and audiences.  You may purchase 1 copy of this vocal arrangement for the price listed.
