Published by David McKeown (A0.594332). O Christmas Tree, (O Tannenbaum), is a much-loved Christmas song. This version is arranged as a duet in a Jazz Waltz/Swing style for two Violins. Click on the YouTube link above to listen to a full length performance of this arrangement played on Clarinet. The melody of O Christmas Tree is Polish in origin and dates back to the sixteenth century. The lyrics we know and love were added much later by German composer Ernst Anschütz in 1824. The lyrics were originally a homage to the fir tree, using the evergreen foliage as a metaphor for constancy and loyalty. The association with Christmas appeared later in the nineteenth century. With a performance time of three minutes and a half minutes, this version of O Christmas Tree is perfect for seasonal celebrations and concert performances, both formal and informal. The jazz waltz style is a fun and fresh take on this familiar traditional tune.O Christmas Tree is arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. Rhythms are syncopated, as one would expect in jazz waltz music, and there is plenty of articulation detail to help deliver an authentic style. While the key is straightforward, there are several busy passages to keep players on their toes. The melody is played four times, the last in 4/4 time with a short coda. This arrangement is suitable for players at an intermediate level. He was a prominent representative of the second generation of the Mannheim School, and his contributions to the duet repertoire for two violins or two flutes are highly regarded for their musicality and historical significance. Despite not being as widely recognized as some of his contemporaries, his work has left a lasting impact on the classical music domain.Carl Stamitz significantly contributed to the Mannheim School of Music as the most prominent representative of its second generation. He was the eldest son of Johann Stamitz, a violinist and composer considered the Mannheim School's founder. Carl Stamitz's contribution to the school included his role as a prolific orchestral composer, writing numerous symphonies, concertos for various instruments, and other instrumental works. His work, along with that of other members of the Mannheim School, helped solidify the Classical symphony and its dynamic contrasts, impacting the evolution of the classical music period. Additionally, Carl Stamitz's choice of the viola as his favorite instrument and his compositions for the viola also contributed to the school's legacy.

2 violins - intermediate to advanced - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q6565 Composed by Johanna Senfter. This edition: Sheet music. Violin Library. Downloadable. Op. 91. Schott Music - Digital #Q6565. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6565). The composer and violinist Johanna Senfter from Oppenheim wrote concert works, such as chamber music works for violin, her whole life. Being a pupil of Reger, who held her in high esteem, she composed 10 alte Tänze für 2 Violinen, Op. 91, which follow the style of Max Reger and even share his preference for 'composing in the old style'. The dances, which were combined by the composer to form two suites, are influenced by the tradition of the old French violin duos by Boismortier, Corrette or Leclair. This demanding chamber music is fun to play and suitable for both lessons and concerts.
