Tu scendi dalle stelle (You Come Down from the Stars) is a Christmas carol from Italy, written in 1732 by Alfonso Maria De Liguori in the musical style of a pastorale. I arranged it here for bass voice and piano, trying to keep it simple. The tessitura/range is extremely comfortable and suitable also for a beginner. I have added a short piano passage in between the two parts, so bars 27-39 are entirely original and of my own. I have also added a half-tone up switch at the beginning of the second part.

This is a very famous bass solo from Giuseppe Verdi's opera La Forza del Destino.
In the original score there is a male chorus part, which I have removed in this arrangement so that this piece can be performed (almost) as an operatic aria.
I have also done minor changes in the piano accompaniment in order to smoothen the cut of the male chorus part. 
The character singing this role is a priest whose name is Padre Guardiano. This makes this piece fit also for sacred music performances.
