Instrumental Duet Flute,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.797798

Composed by Ronald Hazlehurst and Ronnie Hazlehurst. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Contemporary. Score and parts. 6 pages. Derek Hasted #6109033. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797798).

LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE - FLUTE and GUITAR DUET
For Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.

Derek Hasted writes This charming piece has become incredibly well-known in the UK as the theme tune to the TV series of the same name - one of the UKā€™s longest running comedies.

The music elegantly captures the calm of country life and the simplicity of times gone by, and makes for a refreshing and accessible concert item whether you know the original music or not.

The guitar part is all in first position with just a few straightforward barrĆ© chords that are comfortable and easy to reach. The rather scary-looking Gb major chord at the end is enharmonically correct - itā€™s based on a flattened second to the final key of F. But guitarists will probably prefer to think of it as F# major, which is a familiar chord in guitar repertoire, and thereā€™s no need for a barrĆ© for this one either!

This music is set in the key of the original TV soundtrack.

I hope you enjoy playing this piece!

Flute,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download

SKU: A0.1345929

By The Smiths. By Johnny Marr and Steven Morrissey. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Pop. 12 pages. Derek Hasted #930830. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1345929).

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE (The Smiths) - accessible piece for FLUTE and GUITAR
Intended for classical or acoustic guitar, though sometimes it gets listed erroneously under electric guitar.
The guitar part is supplied in ā€œNotation onlyā€ and ā€œNotation + TABā€

Derek Hasted writes This song burst back into my consciousness when it was played as a Viennese Waltz in the BBC TV program ā€œStrictly Come Dancingā€.

The ponderous, downbeat, original became light, inspiring, uplifting and very beautiful.

Hereā€™s the version that was on TV - the same key as the original but slightly shorter.

The flute takes the tune, the guitar (with the bottom string tuned to D) takes the accompaniment.

Itā€™s ideal for an inexperienced duo - the tune, believe it or not, only uses 5 different notes!

The use of 6=D tuning for the guitar dramatically reduces the number of barrƩ chords and makes the guitar part much easier on the left hand.

I hope you enjoy playing this piece!
