Flute,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1514728 Composed by Olafur Arnalds. Arranged by Derek Hasted. New Age,Pop. 11 pages. Derek Hasted #1089219. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1514728). SAMAN - accessible gentle piece for FLUTE & GUITARIntended for classical guitar, though sometimes it gets listed erroneously under electric guitar.Derek Hasted writes Composed for piano in the key of 3 flats, this gentle piece has a timeless, ethereal sound. There are a handful of arrangements for guitar using a Capo to recreate the original key, but it’s hard to recreate the spacious, effortless sound and pedal sustain of the piano. My flute and guitar duet version places the piece in a different key, where the guitar breathes more easily, and adds a lot of depth to the flute part. The difficult guitar chords and stretches, the awkward sustains - they’ve all gone, and the result is an accessible duet that will delight audiences with its grace and smoothness. The flute part occasionally reaches top E (3 ledger lines up) and it’s important not to be shrill here, as the flute will carry over the guitar at even a modest volume. There are no dynamics, but somehow the piece seems to know how it needs to be played...I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Derek's website at www.derek-hasted.co.uk/smp lists all his arrangements by title and by number of instruments, with links to soundclips and sample score.

The parts are labeled solo and duet for the second part.  Suggested fingerings for the guitar are included.  The guitar uses the 6th string set to D. Tempo is moderato (100-112 mm.) Instrumental Duet Flute,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797816 Composed by Howard Goodall. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Contemporary,Film/TV. Score and parts. 13 pages. Derek Hasted #6333153. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797816). VICAR OF DIBLEY (Psalm 23) - FLUTE and GUITARFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This delightful setting of the 23rd Psalm (The Lord Is My Shepherd) by Howard Goodall is well-known in the UK and elsewhere as the Theme Tune to the gentle TV comedy The Vicar Of Dibley. My arrangement for flute and guitar is very accessible and straightforward, but still contains all the thematic material of the original. In a nod to the medieval sound that a choir conjures up when singing this modern setting, the guitar part is played with a Capo on the 3rd fret, to mimic the pitch range of the lute and to make the sound lighter and more ethereal. The flute part is played at pitch, so the full score is set in two keys - the capo does all the magic!Dynamics are suggested that mirror the original (with choir, organ and full orchestra) but the guitar fingering and the flute breath points are yours to choose - just make sure you make the performance yours...I hope you enjoy performing this!

Instrumental Duet Flute,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012008 Composed by Haydon Harvey. Contemporary,Folk. Score and parts. 13 pages. Haydon Harvey #3572453. Published by Haydon Harvey (A0.1012008). Written for flute with 12-string guitar accompaniment, Longing is a folk inspired piece with an improvisatory feel to it. As the piece the begins, the guitar just plays the open strings until the second section begins. The piece can be accompanied with a 6-string guitar if desired, however that depth of sound will be lost compared to that of a 12-string does provide. Plucking a 12-string will be the main technical challenge for the guitar. As mentioned earlier, the first section is improvisatory mainly for the flute but in the second section the flute follows many interval jump patterns usually in a scale motion.Follow me as well on YouTube:https://youtube.com/channel/UCDH5k8WC2fjcY_5i6fmyHfg

Instrumental Duet Flute,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.933172 By Calum Scott. By Calum Scott, Corey Sanders, and Jon Maguire. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Contemporary,Pop. Score and parts. 16 pages. Derek Hasted #538937. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.933172). YOU ARE THE REASON (Calum Scott) - FLUTE and GUITARFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This haunting piece, with the most amazing “build and fade awayâ€, moves nicely from “voice and piano†to “flute and guitarâ€. It will suit an intermediate duo. I’ve made a significant change to the key here, but that allows the guitar to produce a haunting first verse where a stopped B and an open B ring through each other to generate a smoothness of accompaniment that is sublime and mimics the reverberant piano of the original. The arpeggio patterns here match closely those of the original piano too, giving verses 1 and 2 quite different texture. Sadly there is no orchestra and massed choir to build this version in the way that the original does, but the dynamics on the score tie in with the original song. The guitar part is here in “score and tab†and in “score alone†- there is no difference in the music, but the tab may help notation readers see how the opening section sits on the neck of the guitar.I hope you enjoy playing this piece!

Instrumental Duet Flute,Guitar,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797702 Composed by Lionel Bart. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Contemporary. Score and parts. 5 pages. Derek Hasted #3563443. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797702). WHERE IS LOVE (from Oliver) - FLUTE and GUITAR DUETFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This charming song, from the Stage Show Oliver, fits beautifully onto Flute and Guitar. The sustain of the Flute mimics the little Oliver's plaintive voice, and the guitar provides a gentle movement that fits underneath, with some of the accompaniment echoing the tune one measure later. Played at a slow tempo to match the original, this is an easy-to-play and delightfully haunting piece, ideal both for school concerts and adult performances. This is one of a growing range of flute and guitar titles that I am arranging and each one is carefully chosen to make the very best of the two instruments while keeping the complexity down, so that the piece is accessible to more musicians!I hope you enjoy playing this piece!
