Derek Hasted writes My arrangement of this joyously upbeat Christmas piece follows the key of the original, but arranged for flute and classical (or acoustic) guitar.
The standard is just on the easy side of intermediate.
The Guitar is tuned down to 6=D and has the 3:3:2 rhythm that gives this piece its real sense of fun. Although the music reaches the fifth position in places, its generally in first and second position to give access to a deeper bass-line.
A competent flautist can make the final verse more dramatic by taking the music up an octave. This takes the highest note up to top F# which some intermediate players find a little unreliable.
