In a nod to the medieval sound that a choir conjures up when singing this modern setting, the guitar part is played with a Capo on the 3rd fret, to mimic the pitch range of the lute and to make the sound lighter and more ethereal. The flute part is played at pitch, so the full score is set in two keys - the capo does all the magic!Dynamics are suggested that mirror the original (with choir, organ and full orchestra) but the guitar fingering and the flute breath points are yours to choose - just make sure you make the performance yours...I hope you enjoy performing this!

Much of Adele's improvisation at the end of the track is captured here, unlike some other published editions.The Guitar part is straightforward, though the first beat is often written to come early - at the back of the previous bar or measure. A Capo is required at the fifth fret, but this makes the part much easier on the fingers.The metronome mark is close to the speed of the original, but as an instrumental, it also works if you go a little slower, especially if it makes for a tighter performance.The parts are laid out with extra sample pages at the front so that you can preview some of each part and some of the full score on screen before purchase. It will suit an intermediate duo. I’ve made a significant change to the key here, but that allows the guitar to produce a haunting first verse where a stopped B and an open B ring through each other to generate a smoothness of accompaniment that is sublime and mimics the reverberant piano of the original.The arpeggio patterns here match closely those of the original piano too, giving verses 1 and 2 quite different texture. Sadly there is no orchestra and massed choir to build this version in the way that the original does, but the dynamics on the score tie in with the original song.The guitar part is here in “score and tab� and in “score alone� - there is no difference in the music, but the tab may help notation readers see how the opening section sits on the neck of the guitar.I hope you enjoy playing this piece!

WHEN YOU SAY NOTHING AT ALL - FLUTE and GUITARFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This lovely melody, first made famous by Alison Krauss, and more recently by Ronan Keating, makes a delightful concert piece for flute and guitar.My arrangement is based on Ronan Keating’s version, where the guitar part is a little different to the original. The music doesn’t have the slow fade-out of Keating’s piece - it’s not that easy for a flute and guitar duo on stage to emulate that! But it does have all the rest of the thematic material, including the strange but seldom noticed fact that verse two is one measure shorter than verse one. The key is the same as Keating’s version and includes the rather lovely key changes - both seem to go up slightly in pitch, yet the second key change actually returns back to the starting key.Much of the guitar part can be played in the lower positions where there’s just a little bit more sustain to help support the flute part. Where the guitar part needs sustain across the bar-lines, I have used “ties to nothing� rather than formal ties. Ties generate a lot more black on the page and make the music harder to read. I hope you enjoy performing this!

After fussing around with many arrangements, I finally came back to this one which reserves the flute for the glorious chorale tune and lets the guitar provide the lovely 'bedding' upon which it floats. Frustrated flautists may read over the guitarist's shoulder and play the 'motet' melody if they must. Guitarists, if your flute player doesn't show up, the guitar part is complete on its own!

As the piece the begins, the guitar just plays the open strings until the second section begins. The piece can be accompanied with a 6-string guitar if desired, however that depth of sound will be lost compared to that of a 12-string does provide.
