I wrote this carol in 2004 for the annual carol service which became known as A Star For Christmas. I wanted to try and capture the essence of a birth where the mother knows her child faces death by execution from the minute of conception even though the purpose is to save humanity. I do not think you can remove the joy of it whatever the final outcome but it must have been an extraordinary realization for Mary at that moment. Score available.
