O Thou Joyful, O Thou Wonderful is a Christmas hymn which became popular about 100 years ago. The tune from Tattersall's Psalmody is much older. This melody is also known as the Sicilian Mariners traditionally used for the Roman Catholic Marian hymn, O Sanctissima. According to tradition, Sicilian seamen ended each day on their ships by singing this hymn in unison.
This is a lively arrangement for two violins and a cello appropriate for Christmas services and programs. This package includes a solo sheet for each instrument.
