Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation was originally an unaccompanied plainsong melody, translated in 1851 by John Mason Neale from the second part of the Latin monastic hymn Urbs beata Jerusalem. It is now commonly sung to the tune of Westminster Abbey by Purcell and currently growing in popularity. A favorite of the British royal family, it has been performed at their marriage ceremonies and Elizabeth II's platinum jubilee and funeral service. This is an Intermediate String Trio (two violins and cello) arrangement. A separate sheet is provided for the each instrument along with the score. A piano arrangement of this hymn is also available at this web site.
