The piano sets the stage for a simple, pastoral melody to come on stage, to be beckoned later by other merry melodies into the magical woods, where all on a sudden it experiences the presence of a gentle divine force to which it bows in self-surrender, going through a mystical experience and finally emerging from it, and the woods, with a new consciousness of the world around it. In line with Indian musical tradition, except where indicated, dynamics, tempi and expression are left to the imagination and interpretation of the performers.
