String Ensemble,String Trio Cello,Violin - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.742477 Composed by Alexander Borodin. Arranged by Arte Nova Music Lab. Concert,Easter,Romantic Period,Standards,World. Score and parts. 31 pages. Arte Nova Music Lab #4602739. Published by Arte Nova Music Lab (A0.742477). Alexander Porfiryevich Borodin (Russian: ÐлекÑаÌндр ПорфиÌрьевич БородиÌн, IPA: [Élʲɪkˈsandr pÉrˈfʲi rʲjɪvʲɪtÉ• bÉ™rÉˈdʲin] (12 November 1833 – 27 February 1887) was a Russian chemist and Romantic musical composer ofGeorgian ancestry. He was one of the prominent 19th-century composers known as The Mighty Handful, a group dedicated to producing a uniquely Russian kind of classical music, rather than imitating earlier Western European models.[3][4][5]Borodin is known best for his symphonies, his two string quartets, the symphonic poem In the Steppes of Central Asia and his opera Prince Igor. Music fromPrince Igor and his string quartets was later adapted for the US musical Kismet. A doctor and chemist by profession, Borodin made important early contributions to organic chemistry. Although he is presently known better as a composer, during his lifetime, he regarded medicine and science as his primary occupations, only practising music and composition in his spare time or when he was ill. As a chemist, Borodin is known best for his work concerning organic synthesis, including being among the first chemists to demonstrate nucleophilic substitution, as well as being the co-discoverer of the aldol reaction. Borodin was a promoter of education in Russia and founded the School of Medicine for Women in Saint Petersburg, where he taught until 1885. Taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Borodin

String Trio Cello,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1118637 By Enya. By Robert Lowry. Arranged by Sandy McIntire. Chamber,Folk,Religious,Spiritual,Traditional. 13 pages. Sandy McIntire #720130. Published by Sandy McIntire (A0.1118637). HOW CAN I KEEP FROM SINGING, also known as MY LIFE FLOWS ON IN ENDLESS SONG, was composed by Robert Lowry who fit his lyric to an early American folk tune. First appearing shortly after the American Civil War, the hymn took over a century to gain in popularity. Pete Seeger revived the hymn in the 1960s, and it has gained in popularity since then. Irish artist Enya recorded it in 1991 in her album, Shepherd Moons. This arrangement is for an INTERMEDIATE STRING ENSEMBLE (two violins and cello). Separate sheets for each instrument are provided. Its haunting and nostalgic melody and harmonies are perfect for performance as a string trio. Other similar arrangements by McIntire are Fairest Lord Jesus and Flowers of Edinburgh, as well as an intermediate piano arrangement of this song are also available at this web site.

String Trio Cello,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1188297 Composed by American Folk Song. Arranged by Sandy McIntire. 20th Century,Children,Comedy,Folk,Traditional. 16 pages. Sandy McIntire #787897. Published by Sandy McIntire (A0.1188297). The Big Rock Candy Mountain is an all time favorite folk tune that can be dated back to the 1890s. It was recorded in 1928 by Harry McClintock and popularized in the 1930s by Woody Guthrie and again in the 1960s by Pete Seeger. Over the years, the words, originally bawdy, changed to fit the times and audiences, but always remained true to the hobo's dream of paradise.  This arrangement (without lyrics) is for an Intermediate String trio (two violins and cello). Separate sheets are provided for each instrument in addition to the score.  McIntire's arrangements of this tune for fiddle, mandolin, voice, and piano with lyrics and chords for guitar and banjo are also available at this web site.

String Ensemble,String Trio Cello,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1498116 By Paul Stookey. By Paul Stookey. Arranged by Homco/Crinion. Folk,Pop,Wedding. 6 pages. Homco/Crinion #1074424. Published by Homco/Crinion (A0.1498116). This is a 1971 hit by Paul Stookey of Peter, Paul and Mary. Paul had first performed the song as the best man at the wedding of Peter Yarrow (co-member of Peter, Paul and Mary) in 1969.  Since that time, this song has also been covered by Petula Clark, Harry Belafonte, Mary MacGregor, The Lettermen and Captain & Tenille. This beautifully simple, acoustic, love ballad has become a staple at many weddings since the 1970's mainly because the lyrics speak not only to the couple's love and personal bond, but also of a larger, spiritual connection.

String Ensemble,String Trio Cello,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565640 By Sharon Wilson. By Peter C. Lutkin and Sidney Lanier. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Easter,Folk,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 12 pages. Sharon Wilson #5038367. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565640). The inspiring poem by Sidney Lanier titled Into the Woods My Master Went has been set to a variety of tunes. This string trio arrangement (for 2 Violins and 1 Cello) uses the hymn tune by Peter C. Lutkin. Set in a minor key, the solemn, reflective melody matches the deeply thought-provoking lyrics (see below). Though the lyrics may seem archaic at first, by reading through the words and meditating on the meaning, the beauty of the message becomes clear. This song is especially suited for a prelude or offertory during the season of Lent and Easter.Verse 1 Into the woods my Master went, Clean forspent, forspent, Into the woods my Master came, Forspent with love and shame. But the olives they were not blind to Him. The little grey leaves were kind to Him, The thorn tree had a mind to Him, When into the woods He came. Verse 2 Out of the woods my Master came And he was well content; Out of the woods my Master came, Content with death and shame. When death and shame would woo Him last, From under the trees they drew Him last, ’Twas on a tree they slew Him-last When out of the woods He came. Two unique verses are included interspersed with flowing and melodious interludes. VIOLIN 2 begins with the melody and then the VIOLIN 1 picks up the melody for the remainder of verse 1. The VIOLIN 1 and VIOLIN 2 alternate leading with the melody for verse 2. All notes for both VIOLIN parts and the CELLO are playable in the first position making this arrangement an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. Being in a minor key, several D#’s are scattered throughout the VIOLIN 1 and 2 parts which may require planning alternate fingering for smooth note transitioning. The purchase price includes a 5-page combined score with all three parts on each page plus separate 1-staff scores for the VIOLIN 1, VIOLIN 2, and CELLO (2 pages each). This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection titled Easy String Trios: Easter Hymns (A Collection of 10 Easy Trios for 2 Violins and 1 Cello).
