String Trio Cello,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.763316 Composed by James L Pierpont, James R Murray, and John W Work Jnr. Arranged by Nigel Williams. Christmas,Folk,Instructional. 12 pages. Nigel Williams #4756289. Published by Nigel Williams (A0.763316). Three iconic American Christmas carols arranged for two violins and a cello. Each instrument has a melody part which makes this arrangement appealing to performers. The march-like Go Tell It On The Mountain gives way to a gentle lullaby-like Away In A Manger, The cello pizz providing a gentle sense of rocking. The tempo picks up with Jingle Bells, leading to a slightly less predictable, but satisfying, final cadence. The performance duration is close to four and a half minutes and the full score has individual parts attached. Some phrasing has been suggested, but as always, use your discretion. This arrangement is well suited to high school string players and church music groups looking for new repertoire across the Christmas season. .

String Ensemble,String Trio Cello,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.565640 By Sharon Wilson. By Peter C. Lutkin and Sidney Lanier. Arranged by Sharon Wilson. Easter,Folk,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Score and parts. 12 pages. Sharon Wilson #5038367. Published by Sharon Wilson (A0.565640). The inspiring poem by Sidney Lanier titled Into the Woods My Master Went has been set to a variety of tunes. This string trio arrangement (for 2 Violins and 1 Cello) uses the hymn tune by Peter C. Lutkin. Set in a minor key, the solemn, reflective melody matches the deeply thought-provoking lyrics (see below). Though the lyrics may seem archaic at first, by reading through the words and meditating on the meaning, the beauty of the message becomes clear. This song is especially suited for a prelude or offertory during the season of Lent and Easter.Verse 1 Into the woods my Master went, Clean forspent, forspent, Into the woods my Master came, Forspent with love and shame. But the olives they were not blind to Him. The little grey leaves were kind to Him, The thorn tree had a mind to Him, When into the woods He came. Verse 2 Out of the woods my Master came And he was well content; Out of the woods my Master came, Content with death and shame. When death and shame would woo Him last, From under the trees they drew Him last, ’Twas on a tree they slew Him-last When out of the woods He came. Two unique verses are included interspersed with flowing and melodious interludes. VIOLIN 2 begins with the melody and then the VIOLIN 1 picks up the melody for the remainder of verse 1. The VIOLIN 1 and VIOLIN 2 alternate leading with the melody for verse 2. All notes for both VIOLIN parts and the CELLO are playable in the first position making this arrangement an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. Being in a minor key, several D#’s are scattered throughout the VIOLIN 1 and 2 parts which may require planning alternate fingering for smooth note transitioning. The purchase price includes a 5-page combined score with all three parts on each page plus separate 1-staff scores for the VIOLIN 1, VIOLIN 2, and CELLO (2 pages each). This arrangement is one of the 10 songs in the collection titled Easy String Trios: Easter Hymns (A Collection of 10 Easy Trios for 2 Violins and 1 Cello).
