Can't Help Falling in Love was recorded by Elvis Presley in 1961 for his soundtrack Blue Hawaii. The melody was familiar to many because it is based on an old French love song Plaisir d'Amour. In this String Trio Arrangement, the 1st Violin has the melody for the opening statement. The Cello then takes the lead before giving it back to the violin. Next, the 2nd Violin gets to shine in the B-section, while the cello plays an arpeggiated bass line and 1st violin sings on a descant. The final section is grand and majestic with the violin playing in its upper register and the cello playing exaggerated walking bass octaves. Very regal, indeed.
