John Lunn's music for the British historical drama Downton Abbey captures the pomp and ceremony of the British Royalty absolutely perfectly. There is both energy and emotion in the driving 6/8 rhythm. Lyrics to this music were added later by Don Black (of James Bond movie-theme fame) and Did I Make the Most of Loving You leaves fans a little choked-up when they read/hear the lyrics. The song tells the story of a passionate love that sweeps you off your feet and takes your breath away. The monstrous success of the blockbuster film significantly contributed to the song's exposure and popularity. In this String Trio arrangement, the melody is covered by the 1st Violin, but sometimes in octaves with the 2nd Violin. The cello basically keeps the beat and supplies the tonic of the chords, and occassionally has an imitative melodic figure.
