In spite of his young age, Korngold clearly had already had a mastery of late-romantic melodic and harmonic tools, which he displays beautifully in these miniatures. Reminiscient of the waltzes by Viennese compatriot Fritz Kreisler, the Four Waltzes work very well for violin and piano.
