L'Arlésienne Suite No. 2 was arranged and published in 1879, four years after Bizet's death, by Ernest Guiraud, using Bizet's original themes (although not all of them were from the L'Arlésienne incidental music). The second suite is generally credited to Bizet since he wrote the themes and the basic orchestration. 

This arrangement for violin and piano includes the second movement of the suite (Intermezzo), a marvelous melody where Guiraud added to it the Latin sacred text of the Agnus Dei.

The Farandole from Bizet's L'Arlesienne is arranged here for Early Intermediate Violin. It was composed in 1872 as an accompaniment to a French play, The Girl from Arles.  A farandole is a French country dance.  This arrangement includes a piano accompaniment and a separate solo sheet for the violin. It provides an excellent opportunity to introduce students to time signatures and major vs. minor keys using a tune that is lively and fun to play.
