Elegy is a musical journey through grief and contains fragments of themes that ultimately do not get resolved, in the same way that a loss is never fully healed. These motifs repeat recurringly and join together to make melodies, echoing the anger, shock, fear and sadness that so many people experience as a result of these tragedies. I found myself moved to tears while writing Elegy and it is one of my most vulnerable and personal pieces to date.
