Piano,Violin - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1303428 Composed by Gabriel Faure. Arranged by Harry Walker. 19th Century,Contest,Festival,Romantic Period. 8 pages. SCORE EDITIONS #893001. Published by SCORE EDITIONS (A0.1303428). This mélodie is the first in a set of three songs, opus 7, which also comprises Hymne and Barcarolle respectively. All three were composed between 1870 and 1877, then collected and published in 1878 under the title Trois Mélodies. Not originally conceived as a song cycle, these three songs acquired this opus number much later, in the 1890s. The poem for Après un rêve was loosely adapted from an anonymous Italian text by Romain Bussine. It describes, in the form of a dream, the imaginary flight of two lovers who are head over heels in love, although the last verse brings the dreamer inexorably back to harsh reality as dawn is breaking. In this version, the composition was arranged for Violin and Piano by Harry Walker.

Piano,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.534583 Composed by Claude Debussy/Robert Orledge. 20th Century,Concert,Romantic Period,Standards. 21 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #4727479. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.534583). Preface:In the early 1890s, Debussy composed the opening of a lyrical piece in E major for violin and piano, perhaps as a shorter companion piece for the violin Nocturne he was planning for the Belgian violinist Eugène Ysaÿe. After Debussy’s death in 1918, his second wife Emma often gave away sketch pages to performers or composers as memorials to her beloved husband , and this particular page was given to the Cuban born pianist and composer Joaquin Nin (1879-1949). It came up for sale in the catalogue of the British antiquarian dealer Lisa Cox in 2010 and although it might possibly be an early song for contralto and piano, the more dynamic idea in bar 12 strongly suggests the violin, especially as it begins on an open D string. Moreover, there is no text and in pieces of this length, Debussy usually wrote at least one word in, if only to remind himself where he had got to in any song. So my starting point was a complete 12-bar melody gently undulating in the violin’s lowest register over a sensual accompaniment, rising to a climax in bar 12 and giving me a contrasting idea that I could use as a link between sections and in the cadenza. As the B section (bars 14-26) derives directly from Debussy’s opening theme by metamorphosis, my own additions were restricted to the central section (bars 27-57) - comprising a new scherzando idea (C) and the more lyrical D (bars 36-46). C returns at bar 47, followed by the opening sections in reverse order, so that the Sérénade begins and ends with Debussy’s material and is cast in arch form (ABCDCBA). Robert OrledgeBrighton, 19 June 2019Robert Orledge was born in Bath in 1948 and educated at Clare College, Cambridge, where he gained his doctorate for his study of the composer Charles KÅ“chlin in 1973.   Between 1971 and 1991 He rose from Lecturer to Professor in the Music Department of the University of Liverpool, publishing books on Gabriel Fauré, Claude Debussy, Charles KÅ“chlin and Erik Satie, as well as numerous articles, editions and reviews.   As a historical musicologist, Professor Orledge specialized in the way composers composed, ,and since taking early retirement in 2004, he has concentrated on completing and orchestrating Debussy’s unfinished works, and especially his theatre projects. His completion of Debussy’s opera The Fall of the House of Usher (1908-17) was successfully premiered at the Bregenz Opera Festival in Austria in August 2006 and has since been performed in America, Portugal Germany and Holland, as well as being broadcast throughout Europe. A DVD of the Bregenz premier is available on Capriccio 93517, produced by Phylida Lloyd and conducted by Lawrence Foster. His completion of the Chinese ballet No-ja-li ou Le Palais du Silence (1914) was also premiered in 2006 in Los Angeles and other completions include La Saulaie and the Nocturne and Poème for violin and orchestra as well as Debussy’s other Poe opera Le Diable dans le Beffroi.

Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Sacred. 34 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #6212881. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818339). The LORD is in His Holy Temple with  I Surrender All arranged for violin and piano by Stephen R Dalrymple performed by Jim Jansen and Stephen R Dalrympletranscribed for flute, clarinet, trumpet, emphonium/trombone and cello  The Lord is in His Holy Temple by George F. Root 1872 tune – QUAM DILECTA based on Habakkuk 2:19-20  I Surrender All lyrics - Judson W. VanDeVenter 1896 melody - Winfield S. Weeden 1896         The context of the song The LORD is in His Holy Temple is often overlooked in singing this song. Worship in the OT is a rather noisy affair with instruments, singing, shouting, dancing, and public praise. In the Old Testament, quiet in the Temple of God is an ominous, frightening thing, because God’s judgment is to be pronounced! I Surrender All is paired here with The LORD is in His Holy Temple thinking back to Isaiah 6 where Isaiah’s reaction to encountering the presence of God is surrender to Him. Yielding to God is, not only the prerequisite for avoiding God’s judgment, it is the path to peace and joy.         Without the doublestops of the violin part, the wind parts may not seem very challenging at first sight, but to play a beautiful legato with a full tone at piano and pianissimo (slowly, too) is much harder than it sounds. The phrasing and the intensity of the music is critical to the message of the piece. It will take considerable attention between the soloist and the pianist to communicate the moody rubato basic to the best performance of the arrangement.         This .pdf includes 14 score choices ♫ Full Score for violin and piano letter size ♫ Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Trumpet, Euphonium (or trombone), Violin, and Cello solo parts, ♫ Full Score for violin and small page format for performing from a 10 inch tablet and ♫ the same solo parts for 10 inch tablet. tablet (Tell your computer which pages you want to print. Large Ensemble Piano,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818341 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By English Folk Tune, lyrics att Alexander Means, Edwin O Excell, John Newton. Arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Sacred. 45 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #6233919. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818341). What Wondrous Love is This!arranged for violin and piano by Stephen R Dalrymple transcribed for flute, clarinet, trumpet, euphonium (or trombone), viola, and cello recording performed by Jim Jansen and Stephen R Dalrymple    The lyrics were first published in Lynchburg, Virginia in the 1811 camp meeting songbook A General Selection of the Newest and Most Admired Hymns and Spiritual Songs Now in Use. In most early printings, no author is listed for the text. The 1848 hymnal The Hesperian Harp attributes the text to Alexander means, a Methodist pastor from Oxford    Most sources attribute the hymn's melody to the 1701 English song The Ballad of Captain Kidd, but the melody predates the Kidd tune, however, possibly by more than a century. Camp meeting attendees during the Second Great Awakening would sing the hymns from text only hymnals to a variety of popular melodies. The text and melody were first published together in The Southern Harmony, a book of shape note hymns compiled by William Walker. (excerpted from Wikipedia)    What Wondrous Love is This! is set in the Dorian mode. The mode gives the song a poignant, evocative mood.    What Wondrous Love is This? text attributed to Alexander Means tune attributed to William Walker in The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion (1835)    Amazing Grace text - John Newton 1779 tune - Virginia Harmony 1831 arranged by Edwin O. Piano,Violin - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.749773 Composed by Evelyn R. Larter. Arranged by Evelyn Larter Music. Christian,Sacred. 8 pages. Evelyn R Larter #3033429. Published by Evelyn R Larter (A0.749773). This is a setting of two old hymn tunes, Retreat and Rockingham, originally arranged as a choral anthem with violin obbligato but here rearranged as a violin solo with piano. It is suitable as prelude or offertory music. The first tune, Retreat, is most commonly found in American hymnbooks for the hymn From Every Stormy Wind that Blows, hence the title, but in the United Kingdom mostly Communion hymns are sung to these melodies. Rockingham is often used as the tune for When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. If the title is to be printed in a church bulletin I recommend using whichever hymn is most familiar in the context as the title! The recording begins at the end of the introduction, in measure 8 - it was done at a youth camp as Chapel Prelude so there is some background noise. Violin and piano - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q20911 Composed by Stefan Heucke. This edition: Sheet music. Violin Library. Downloadable. Op. 38. Duration 21 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q20911. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q20911). - Stefan Heucke.
