This arrangement of the famous expressive and lilting Barcarolle from 'Tales of Hoffmann' for string orchestra would work equally well for string quartet. The melody is contained in the first violin part and later the viola part. The 2nd violin provides an interesting accompaniment and the cello part has a legato arpeggiated section. It could be performed in a wedding ceremony or as a slower contrasting piece in an evening concert or school concert. There are11 pages including the title page.
