At the Commonwealth Games, Team England has used Jerusalem as the victory anthem since 2010. The Commonwealth Games Council for England conducted a poll of members of the public which decided the anthem for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The three options were God Save the Queen, Jerusalem and Land of Hope and Glory. Jerusalem was the clear winner with 52% of the vote; Land of Hope and Glory received 32% and God Save the Queen 12%.

As of February 2024, the Scottish Government have not yet formally adopted an official national anthem of Scotland, despite having the legal competence in order to do so. ] During a meeting of the Enterprise and Culture Committee on 9 May 2006 in the Scottish Parliament, MSP Michael Matheson raised the question about the status of Scotland's national anthem, citing during the recent Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, there was some debate about a Scottish national anthem, largely because a number of songs were being used as our national anthem. However, in recent discussions on the matter, no consensus was reached, other than on the point that we should have a national anthem. At that time, there was suggestions that the incumbent First Minister of Scotland Jack McConnell had claimed that a debate on an official national anthem for Scotland should take place to address the issue.

MSP Murdo Fraser expressed concerns over the three most popular candidates for an official national anthem of Scotland – Flower of Scotland, Scotland the Brave and Highland Cathedral. In his speech to the committee, he claimed Flower of Scotland is inappropriate because some of the sentiments that are expressed in it are jingoistic and anti-English; Scotland the Brave is inappropriate because, although it is a good tune, it does not have words that match the upbeat nature of the music; and Highland Cathedral is a good tune, but it has no words at all.

There is no official anthem which represents only Northern Ireland.

Two pieces of music are used to represent Northern Ireland in a sporting context:

Londonderry Air is played as the anthem of Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games. Danny Boy is a popular set of lyrics to the tune.
God Save the King, the national and royal anthem of the United Kingdom, is played as the anthem of Northern Ireland at association football.
Ireland's Call is used by the Ireland rugby union team, Ireland rugby league team, Ireland cricket team and Ireland field hockey teams. All of these teams represent the entire island of Ireland.

Amhrán na bhFiann (The Soldier's Song), the national anthem of the Republic of Ireland, is used by some organisations operating on the island of Ireland, such as the Gaelic Athletic Association.

This antiphonal sonata, now usually performed by brass choirs, was originally scored for strings and various Renaissance instruments. Michele Winter's edition for double string orchestra is designed for groups at the Grade 3-3.5 level. After a brief introduction in common time, the sonata settles into triple meter with dance-like cadential hemiolas. Tutti sections alternate with antiphonal episodes and lead to a powerful coda in common time. Here's a chance to introduce your students and audiences to the thrill of antiphonal music. Recordare (from Requiem (K. 626) - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart/Franz Xaver Sussmayr - String Orchestra - Advanced/Intermediate - Digital Download. Hauntingly beautiful is how the Recordare from Mozart's Requiem is often described. Originally written for an orchestra and four vocal soloists, it has now been transcribed by Regis Bookshar for a String Orchestra, consisting of 3 Violins, 2 Violas, 2 Violoncellos and 1 Double Bass, and would be a wonderful addition to any music library. This arrangement will provide students with the opportunity to play this beautiful composition, something which they may not have had the opportunity to do, otherwise. This selection could be performed for concerts, recitals and church services and is suitable for high school and college students but professional musicians would also enjoy playing this arrangement. Included are a score and a complete set of parts (44 pages). The Regis Bookshar Trumpet Ensemble has performed the Trumpet Quintet version of the Recordare for funerals, providing beautiful, introspective music for the occasion. There is some controversy surrounding the circumstances of the Requiem's composition because Mozart died before he could complete it. Count Franz von Walsegg had commissioned a Requiem Mass but Mozart had received only half of the payment in advance. So, upon his death on December 5th, 1791, his widow, Constanze, wished to have the work completed secretly by someone else and submit it to the count as having been completed by Mozart to collect the final payment. Joseph von Eybler was one of the first composers to be asked to complete the score and had worked on a number of movements but felt unable to complete the remainder and gave the manuscript back to Constanze Mozart. The task was then given to another composer, Franz Xaver Sussmayr. Sussmayr borrowed some of Eybler's work in making his completion, added his own orchestration to other movements and added several new movements which a Requiem Mass would normally comprise. He then added a final section by adapting the opening two movements which Mozart had written to the different words which finish the Requiem Mass, which according to both Sussmayr and Mozart's wife, was done according to Mozart's directions. The completed score, initially by Mozart but largely finished by Sussmayr, was then dispatched to Count Walsegg complete with a counterfeited signature of Mozart dated 1792. Despite the controversy over how much of the music is actually Mozart's, the commonly performed Sussmayr version has become widely accepted by the public, and is considered one of Mozart's finest compositions. The Recordare is considered by many people to be one of the most beautiful compositions in Mozart's entire catalogue. Regis Bookshar, a trumpet player, has performed the Requiem in concert with a full orchestra, soloists and a chorus and felt that other musicians should have the opportunity to play the hauntingly beautiful Recordare as well. So, in addition to this arrangement for a String Orchestra, he has made quite a few other arrangements of this beautiful composition. There are Quintets, Sextets, Septets and Octets readily available for a wide variety of instrumental ensembles. Please take the time to look for other versions of this composition. You may fine something else which may also suit your needs. I would also encourage you to search for other arrangements by Regis Bookshar as well, as there are numerous arrangements in a variety of styles, also available for purchase. The Great Blue Heron was inspired by the relatively large, wading bird, commonly found in North and Central America. The name of this bird has always conjured in me an image of something of such immense size and, yet, unbelievable beauty and wonder. Something bsoth terrifying and awe-inspiring.

        Musically speaking, this work is an arabesque, a short, single movement containing ornamentation. This term is also in art to describe works that contain two flowing, decorative motifs in the shape of S and U. In ballet, it is used to describe the shape and movement of a spiral. The gestures of this work follow the contour of these shapes and movements and embody the arabesque in all of these forms.

In this arrangement some elements have been simplifided in order to better fit string orchestra/quintet ensemble, the melody remains almost the same in the violin 1 part,  The Violin 2 and Viola parts have counter-melodies and harmonic material, the cello and double bass share the bass line mixed with some thematic material.
