It has been covered by many jazz artists and is usually presented as a ballad. This arrangement has a light Bossa Nova flavor and will be enjoyed by all of your audiences. A suggested jazz solo is written out in the Violin 1 part and chords are presented in all parts to afford additional opportunities for students to improvise.  All parts remain in first position with the exception of Violin 1 that has a range to high D. There is a mixture of pizzicato and arco to enhance the flavor, and a Violin 3 part is included to bolster the Viola section. The guitar part is optional but when added will create the true Bossa flavor.

The bass has one part. An optional piano part is also provided. The the ideal distribution is Vln. 1, Vln. 2, Vla. 3, and Cello 4. However the intentionally redundant parts allow for flexible combinations of instruments. If for example, no violas or cellos are available, a violin choir could still cover the parts. The same would hold true for a non-traditional quartet such as 3 violins and 1 cello or any other grouping. From there, fun is had in the snow followed by the journey up the ski lift to the top of the ski fields. Then, of course, there is the exhilarating ski journey down the mountain! After more fun in the snow, the day ends, everybody tired but happy!

A railway once ran from the entry of the site to the mine itself. A tunnel was bored through a low mountain to gain access. Since then, the railway itself now removed but the path of it remaining, the tunnel has become the home of thousands of glowworms - a magical and awe-inspiring experience to witness. The piece depicts the journey along the former rail line, the experience of the glowworm tunnel, and the journey back.
