This traditional British song of the sea is sung, in this case, not sung by the sailors, but by their true loves left at home wishing the wind to bring their sailors safely back home. In this arrangement, the melody is shared between first violin and cello. In the second half of the accompaniment, arpeggios in the upper strings suggest the swell of the ocean waves.
