Fassung für kleines Kammerorchester: Fl. solo - Hfe. solo - Str. (4 · 0 · 2 · 2 · 1) Fassung für großes Kammerorchester: Fl. solo - Hfe. solo - 2 Vl. solo · Va. solo · Vc. solo - Str. flute, harp and string orchestra - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q3147 Transcription by Hans Werner Henze for flute, harp and strings of the Clavier-Fantasie with violin accompaniment (1787). Composed by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Hans Werner Henze. This edition: study score. Music Of Our Time. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 17 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q3147. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q3147). I originally wrote this piece as a piéce d'occasion for the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, to complement the Mozart Concerto for flute, harp and strings. Retaining the note values of the original with exactitude, I have to set C. P. E. Bach's Fantasy-Sonata for piano and violin of 1787 for solo flute, harp and strings. I was my purpose to project the extremely interesting and expressive harmonic material of this composition into a larger instrumental apparatus and thereby to make its future-oriented harmonic structures more manifest and plastic. The strings can be presented in two different forms: either as a string quartet and a string quintet, or as string quartet and tutti strings. As will be seen, I have also attempted to loosen up and set in a concertante manner the sound of the strings in the spirit of early classic chamber music. - Hans Werner Henze.

String Orchestra - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.746694 Composed by Lew Pollack. Arranged by Keith Terrett. 20th Century,Folk,Jazz,Traditional. 26 pages. Keith Terrett #2856819. Published by Keith Terrett (A0.746694). Arrangement of That's a Plenty for String Orchestra. That’s a Plenty arranged for String Orchestra, is a 1914 ragtime piano piece composed by Lew Pollack. Lyrics by Ray Gilbert (born 1912) were added decades later. A number of popular vocal versions have been recorded, but the tune remains more performed as an instrumental. The composition started out as a rag, but is nowadays played as a part of the Dixieland jazz repertoire. The song has been recorded by numerous artists, and it is considered a jazz standard. The first recording was in 1917 by Prince’s Band, and the New Orleans Rhythm Kings recorded their rendition in 1923.Television comedian Jackie Gleason used it in his shows in the 1950s and 1960s. Among the hundreds of later recordings of this standard, particularly notable versions include: Freddy Martin and His Orchestra recorded a version of That’s A Plenty in 1950. Sheet music from the 1950 version featuring Freddy Martin on the cover has the lyrics printed inside. It was recorded by Albert Nicholas, clarinet, with The Big Chief Jazz Band in Oslo on August 29, 1955. Released on the 78 rpm record Philips P 53038. The Pollack and Gilbert song is not to be confused with a 1909 song of the same name by Henry Creamer and Bert Williams. String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1392366 Composed by John Philip Sousa. Arranged by Joel Jacklich (ASCAP) or. Holiday,March,Patriotic. 28 pages. Joel Jacklich #975894. Published by Joel Jacklich (A0.1392366). The Thunderer (1889) is one of John Philip Sousa's most beloved marches. It is knot known to what, or more likely to whom, the title refers. Paul E. Bierley suggests that since the work was dedicated the the Columbia Commandery No. 2, Knights Templar, of Washington, D.C., and composed for its Twenty-fourth Triennial Conclave of the Grand Encampment, that the title may refer to Myron M. Parker, one of the principal men responsible for the success of the conclave.(1)Sousa is so universally loved, that it seems a shame to restrict his performance only to marching bands and concert bands.  Here The Thunderer is arranged for string orchestra by Joel Jacklich (A.S.C.A.P.). Perfect for that next patriotic concert.(1)Paul E. Bierley, The Works of John Philip Sousa (Westerville, Ohio: Integrity Press, 1984), 89.
