Cello,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.763302 Composed by Traditional Spiritual. Arranged by Nigel Williams. Lent,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and part. 8 pages. Nigel Williams #4295849. Published by Nigel Williams (A0.763302). The African-American Spiritual 'Deep River' is arranged for cello and organ. The melody is mainly in the cello, and when the melody is in the organ (m27 -33) the cello features an expansive counter-melody. This imaginative arrangement is ideal as a quiet reflective musical offering in any church service where this spiritual is admired, and especially during the Lent and Easter season. The performance duration is over three minutes and the full score has parts attached. If you like this arrangement you should also check out my Stille Nacht for cello and organ.

David McKeown #6411835. Published by David McKeown (A0.592733). Down by the Riverside is a beautiful gospel song arranged here for Solo Cello and Piano.Down by the Riverside was sung in African-American communities before the American Civil War but did not appear in print until included in a 1918 collection of spirituals. Several versions were recorded by gospel choirs in the ‘20s and ‘30s, and Down by the Riverside, with its lyric, I ain’t goin’ to study war no more, was adopted as an anti-war song by the ‘60s counterculture.
