This composition was inspired by Armenian mythology and influenced by Armenian folk music.  My inspirations for the first movement is Astghik, the Armenian goddess of love, maidenly beauty and water.  A feminine, delicate and ornamented melody played by the violoncello accompanied by arpeggiated piano figures is how I envisioned Astghik surrounded by the water waves and springs. In the second movement you will hear a fearless and restless melody in combination with syncopated rhythm drawing the image of Nane, Armenian mother goddess, a goddess of war and wisdom.
