This beginner song was inspired by the peepers (little frogs) singing one spring night. Written in G position in the bass clef, the right hand plays the frog sound, F# and G played together. I always call these frog's eyes because they remind me of frog's eyes.
This song is actually a game. Each measure has a different colour of frog in it. I use bingo chips, but anything with matching colours would work. Put them in a bag, pulling one at a time. The student has to play whatever colour is pulled. They should do this 4-5 times for each colour. Then play the song through twice. They repeat this for each practice session. This is a game that I use frequently with my younger students as it teaches them to break their practice into smaller segments and they have fun while they practice.
