There are a multitude of arrangements of The Entertainer and The Maple Leaf Rag, and understandably so - they’re delightful pieces. Nothing You Can Take From Me by Rachel Zegler and The Covey Band is from the soundtrack of the 2023 film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. This arrangement of the boot-stompin’ Country-Blues hit song is written Easy Piano (Levels 2-3) Solo. Free time (senza misura) sections allow the performer to mimic the improvised sound of the vocal solos, while the contrasting steady left hand embody the driving sound of the band. This piece is arranged a half-step lower than the original key to maximize both authenticity and ease; it includes note values up to sixteenth notes, and contains no octaves or large leaps. This piece is perfect for elementary students who are fans of Zegler, The Hunger Games, and a classic Country Rock sound. Guitar chords included.
