This beginner piano piece is the shortened version of the song C D E Just for Me.  It is designed to introduce the youngest beginner students to their first three notes on the treble staff using the Middle C position.  This should be the first song that they learn from my instructional songs.  Using large font with bright colours, lyrics and fingering, new beginners will easily learn this song.  It uses quarter and half notes for the rhythms for easy reading.  If a student needs more assistance distinguishing between the notes on the staff, I will highlight each note head a different colour depending on the pitch.For older beginner students, I recommend using the full version of the song C D E Just for Me instead.  It is also available for purchase. .

The Muskrat Waltz is inspired by the muskrats that were dancing in my pond behind my home yesterday.  This piece is written for late beginner/early elementary students.  It is a great introduction to waltz time, teaching students to really feel the waltz beat.  With the melody in the bass, it is a wonderful piece to showcase the left hand.  The melody is catchy, with an unexpected E flat near the end to catch the audience's ear.  Students will love this piece, recreating the dance of the muskrats.  This piece was written in C position, but uses a B flat and an E flat to enhance the melody in a couple of spots.  The font is larger for easy reading, with some colour added.  Fingering has not been added to this piece as I felt this would also be a great piece for the student to work with the teacher to figure out fingering, using their knowledge of fingering they have learned so far.

If I Were King of the Forest from The Wizard of Oz is arranged in Big Note Piano for Late Beginner Piano students.  This arrangement uses the melody with a simple, single-note bass line to accompany the melody.  Lyrics are included, so the pianist/student can sing along as the lion as they learn to play the song.  Perfect also for musical theatre auditions for those who need a simple accompaniment.  Large font is used for easy reading.
