This Wish piano sheet music for beginners

This is a beginner-friendly version of the song This Wish, from the motion picture Wish by Disney, that kids and piano beginners will love.

As a piano teacher, I arranged and edited this song with real piano students in mind. So you can rest assured that the learning experience of this song will be well balanced for beginners, from a pedagogical perspective.

What are the piano challenges of this sheet music?

The most difficult part of this piece might be memorizing the right hand, due to the changes in position and rhythm.

Fingerings have been written in this sheet music to avoid unnecessary position changes. For that reason, the widest extension of the suggested fingering is a fourth interval using fingers 1 and 2 with the right hand. However, fingerings can always be changed to suit the performers' needs.

However, meditating on the psalms as you play helps you understand the way Christ and all the faithful have looked to the Father in Heaven as their guide and protector as you delight in the musical sounds you can produce.

Dr. Doran includes accessible verses from the NIV and some lines of the poetry that challenge modern ears and sensibilities. Sweet melodies, imitative counterpoint, modal and tonal harmonization and register shifts prove that an intermediate pianist can savor the artistry for the level they have achieved and still thirst for more musical and spiritual goodness to come just like David longed for the Lord’s presence and fullness.
