Flavio Regis Cunha #740715. Published by Flavio Regis Cunha (A0.1140479). O mio babbino caro (Oh my dear Papaâ€) is a soprano aria from the opera Gianni Schicchi (1918) by Giacomo Puccini to a libretto by Giovacchino Forzano. It is sung by Lauretta after tensions between her father Schicchi and the family of Rinuccio, the boy she loves, have reached a breaking point that threatens to separate her from Rinuccio. It provides an interlude expressing lyrical simplicity and love in contrast with the atmosphere of hypocrisy, jealousy, double-dealing, and feuding in medieval Florence. It provides the only set-piece in the through-composed opera. Easy Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.821288 Composed by Giacomo Puccini. Arranged by Judith. L. Maggs. 19th Century,Classical,Opera,Romantic Period. Score. 2 pages. Maggs #6035635. Published by Maggs (A0.821288). This lovely aria from Puccini's opera Gianni Schicchi is a favorite of sopranos. This intermediate level piano version is transposed to the key of G major, down from the original Ab major, and uses eighth note arpeggios to replace the 16th note ones in the original. But it retains the lovely simplicity of the song. It could be used as a simpler accompaniment for a vocalist. (If played on a keyboard - it will work on a 5 octave or larger keyboard - it would be easy to transpose it back up to the original key.)
