PREMIER QUARTET as the title suggests is the first wind quartet by the composer.  The quartet is based on the opening six notes which are restated in various guises throughout the three movements.   The instrumental ranges are comfortable with some interesting solo and rhythmic challenges to excite enthusiastic young musicians.
