B-Flat Trumpet,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.548656 Composed by James Pierpont. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Contemporary. Score and part. 9 pages. Jmsgu3 #3408207. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548656). Jingle Bells arranged for flute & piano. Jingle Bells is perhaps the most famous song in American music history. James L. Pierpont published the piece One Horse Open Sleigh in the late 1850s. Since its introduction, people began to insist that Pierpont wrote it for a Sunday school choir. However, it seems unlikely that such a secular song would be considered appropriate during that historical period for Sunday school. Christmas Repertoire Pierpont wrote the music for the Thanksgiving holidays, but people began to think of it more as a Christmas song over time. Some choirs adopted it as part of their Christmas repertoire in the 1860s and 1870s. Jingle Bells was first recorded in 1889 on a wax cylinder. Origins No one knows where Pierpont composed the song. One theory suggests he wrote it in Medford, Massachusetts, in 1850. Sleigh races were indeed famous in 19th-century Massachusetts. To this day, a commemorative placard appears in Medford Square, claiming it is the birthplace of Jingle Bells. Others suggest that he wrote it in Savannah, Georgia, where he was an organist and music director at the Unitarian Church. This theory gained support from the copyright date of 1857. We know he was living in Savannah by then. Traffic SignalsHorse-drawn sleighs are relatively quiet in the snow. Consequently, horses usually had bell-laden straps to avoid accidents at blind intersections. Sleigh drivers in 19th Century New England were constantly vigilant, listening for the sounds of approaching horse-drawn sleighs. The tune imitates the rhythm that the trotting horse bells produce. Social ContextJingle Bells was sung as a drinking song at local revelries: during the song, folks would rhythmically jingle the ice in their glasses. A sleigh ride allowed couples to be alone together. Jingle bells is a poetic descriptive adjective referring specifically to the more accurate time sleigh bells. In many arrangements, sleigh bells accentuate the rhythm during the song's chorus.

Piano,Trumpet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.973263 Composed by Lynn L. Petersen. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival. Score and part. 24 pages. Lynn L. Petersen #6886191. Published by Lynn L. Petersen (A0.973263). Glory of the West was commissioned by Dr. Zach Buie and premiered at the College of Southern Idaho on March 3, 2020.  Dr. Buie requested a new work connected with or inspired by the Mountain West region.  The inspiration for this piece was the song MONTANA, which I first heard at a memorial service, a great favorite of the gentleman who had passed.  The song was composed in 1910 and later adopted as Montana's state song.  Glory of the West is in three sections.  The first, marked Rolling Along, conveys optimism and wide-open spaces.  The middle Adagio section features a descending stepwise melody followed by a soaring ascending line, reminiscent of melodic contours in the refrain of the song.  The final section, marked Playfully, begins with fragments of a lively and rhythmically irregular motive, and woven throughout are echoes of the ascending lines from the previous section.  The score contains the Piano and C Trumpet parts in concert pitch, and a part for B-flat Trumpet is provided as an alternate.

Tpt. Pft - Easy - Digital Download SKU: F2.FM419 Composed by Paul Kelly. Trumpet and Piano. Score and part. 13 pages. Forton Music - Digital #FM419. Published by Forton Music - Digital (F2.FM419). ISBN 9790570483181.Three jazz inflected pop pieces for beginning to intermediate players. Rockin' Downtown: This piece harks back to early jazz rock. Don't swing the rhythm - play them straight. Play the opening statement aggressively, a bit brash. The middle section should be a little more playful. Give the closing two bars some 'shake' in the tone if you can. The Real And Only Blues: This should be played sweet and mournful, with a gentle swing to the rhythms. Treat each line as if it were a sentence, maybe even write words to go with it so that you have something to say with each phrase. Cart Full Of Monkeys: This is whimsical pop, unpredictable, like monkey behaviour. Don't be a complete slave to the tied rhythms in the opening and closing musical statements - use them more as a starting point for playfulness.

Piano,Trumpet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028166 Composed by Graeme Culpepper. Contemporary. Score and part. 47 pages. Graeme Culpepper #6866343. Published by Graeme Culpepper (A0.1028166). Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra Composer: Graeme Culpepper Year: 2022   Program Notes: I feel that there is a time in every composer's life when they decide to write a concerto. Writing a concerto is as intriguing as it is difficult, as finding a balance between soloist and ensemble can prove to be a tricky task. What’s more, is deciding upon said ensemble. In today’s musical climate, the supporting ensemble can be a variety of different instrumental groups ranging from a chamber ensemble consisting of just a few musicians to a full symphony orchestra. In my humble opinion, with a genre as grand as a concerto, especially one involving the trumpet, I find it fitting to use the orchestra to accompany the trumpet. However, I opted to use an orchestra without a trumpet section to better support the soloist. This concerto’s first movement is built upon a couple of form-defining motifs. One in the form of an ostinato that is constantly changing meter, and another that is a simple short rhythmic cell that is able to fit in a variety of different textures throughout the movement. This movement also introduces the main motif throughout the entire concerto: a melodic sequence consisting of a minor third, a perfect fifth, followed by another minor third which resolves down by half step. This is the unifying motif of the entire concerto. I often ponder as to where the material in the second movement came from. After a long time of reflection, I have come to the conclusion that it is a subconscious expression of myself that comes from deep within. The second movement is perhaps the most vulnerable I have ever been with any of the music I have written, and the experience I personally have when listening to it is one that is very intimate. The third movement is a thrilling romp that is entirely built on the unifying motif mentioned earlier. The whole movement is essentially one big variation of itself. This movement is arguably the most technical and gives the trumpet soloist a great opportunity to show off their skill. This movement is also built upon a one-bar rhythmic ostinato so that the tension in this movement is never fully resolved until the very last bar, in hopes that this will keep the listener on their toes at all times.  Performed live in Recital Hall at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music on March 1st, 2022Purchase includes Full Score + Solo Trumpet Part.
