The two pieces in this set, Waltz and Lullaby were composed in 1994 for Jerry Young, who gave the premiere performance that year at Webster University in St. Louis, MO.
Waltz is scored for unaccompanied tuba and, except for tempos and dynamics, is a palindrome.
Lullaby features polychords and shows off a large range for the tuba. A subtle reference to the well-known Lullaby by Johannes Brahms can be heard in this piece.
Individual parts are included.
