Instrumental Duet,Piano C Trumpet,Instrumental Duet,Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1206435 Composed by Elizabeth Raum. Chamber,Contemporary. 36 pages. Gordon Cherry #804638. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.1206435). Below are the program notes for Illusion for Trumpet, Bass Trombone & Piano by Elizabeth Raum.Illusion, is a general commentary to the fact that life is mysterious and generally, uncertain, constantly shifting. We try to influence what happens but usually, outside forces determine the direction of our lives. Sometimes it’s hard to distinguish between illusion and reality, and, in fact, often people much prefer illusion to reality. Mv. 1 - Illusion starts out with an obscure time signature and is constantly shifting tonalities so for a while, you aren’t quite sure where you are. Life is full of such deceptions.Mv. 2 - Fill the Wine Cup is a series of drinking songs with a lot of gayety and rollocking humour as the party gets more raucous, but eventually things get a little blurry and bombastic and the party winds down. The trombone, due to its ability to imitate drunken reeling with glissandos, is often cast in this role. M. 3 - Destiny seems to march on and on, with mankind hoping to control their future, but the implication is that fate is more powerful than one can control.M. 4 - The ultimate illusion: a Political Debate. The trombone starts out as the first candidate, and the saxophone is the other. The music is circus-like as befits many heated debates.Illusion was commissioned by Lucas Kaspar and JD Little. The original version was written for Alto Sax and Bass TromboneThe work of about 10 minutes in length is appropriate for advanced performers and may also be performed on a Trombone with an f-attachment.This work can be performed on a Trombone with an f-attachment and is appropriate for advanced performers.

Piano,Trombone - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792690 Composed by Armand Russell. 20th Century,Contemporary. Score and part. 12 pages. Gordon Cherry #5760077. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792690). Armand Russell's Perplexing and Perilous Pieces for Trombone and Piano is in two contrasting movements. The first movement Perplexing Prelude is slow, sad, gloomy, worried and moody. The second movement Perilous Pursuit is fast with many different 4-note Bartokian modal-like scales and quite playful in mood. It gets going faster and faster, finally slowing right down and becoming quiet at the end like an exhausted child, but giving one surprise last gasp of a Hoorah to conclude. This work of a bit over 5 minutes in length is appropriate for intermediate performers and is all in bass clef.

Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1455537 By Alex Schwarte. By Alex Schwarte. 21st Century,Classical,Contemporary,New Age. Score and part. 26 pages. Alex Schwarte #1034623. Published by Alex Schwarte (A0.1455537). I have been working on To Rise Again for about a year since the passing of several close family members. As with any long-term struggle, some days are easier than others, and some days it is hard to do much of anything at all. Walking through hard days, this piece is about mental health, the struggles that you face, and on the most difficult days, what it takes to rise again. Despair: This movement opens with what I call the despair motif. This motif consists of seven notes and will return throughout the piece, reminding us of uncertainty and darkness. The middle of the movement includes a build-up leading to a complete panic attack, featuring cluster chords in the piano and extreme volumes and articulation in the trombone. Finally, a quasi-march leads us to the end, where we sink to the lowest and angriest point. Support: This tranquil and shimmering movement evokes the other side of grief and depression: the people around you. In the dark moments, these people can become pillars of aid and light. Even with support, there are moments of darkness and uncertainty, but support will always be there. Musically, this movement features numerous color tones and aims to create an emotionally understanding and steady atmosphere. The opening trombone line (the support motif) represents tender support and is used numerous times in the next movement. Overcome: The final movement opens with a haunting atmosphere created by plucked piano strings. The first normal piano entrance is the Rumbling motif: the feeling of the soul exerting its will to be free but not quite making it. Throughout the rest of the movement, the trombone and piano go back and forth, with the piano emphasizing support and the trombone wallowing in despair. Eventually, the trombone begins to come around and rise. Concluding with a triumphant feeling of release, the mind is lifted from despair, free and open to whatever life brings next. Mental health looks different for everyone, and I want to reflect that in this composition. For all future performances, the performers can make significant musical changes to better reflect their own challenges. This could be as small as a different tempo or as large as a completely different style and articulation. To Rise Again is very personal to me, and I want every performance of it to be just as personal.Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDoVD8lbKulOjUbvdKcc9phxPNOgYLDuh.

Piano,Trombone - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792190 Composed by Bochard, Christel. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary. Score and part. 16 pages. Gordon Cherry #4580321. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792190). Fanfare and Processional for Trombone and Piano was written in 1978 for Trombonist Daniel Bochard. The work was first premiered that year in recital at the University of British Columbia's School of Music. The work has two very distinct themes: the 1st theme, Fanfare which consists of dramatic leaps of 4th's and octaves somewhat reminiscent of Hindemith. The 2nd theme: the stately Processional, is based on the first three notes of a major diatonic scale. The scale presents itself in many different guises throughout the 5 1/2 minute work.
