Bass Recorder,Descant Recorder,Tenor Recorder,Treble Recorder - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1414159 Composed by Edvard Grieg (1843-1907). Arranged by Clive Lane. 19th Century,Classical. Recorder Ensemble. 10 pages. Clive Lane #995930. Published by Clive Lane (A0.1414159). The death of AÌ?se is from Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, Op. 46, which was extracted from the incidental music to Henrik Ibsen's play, Peer Gynt. The five-act drama concerns a young Norwegian lad named Peer Gynt, who dreams of becoming emperor of the world. His sundry adventures are the stuff of high drama and adventure, and are rough and isolated in a way that is peculiarly Nordic. Grieg captures this tone perfectly with his music. The death of AÌ?se  was intended to be played as a prelude to the third act. Peer Gynt has returned home to his mother Ase, only to find that her days on earth have come to an end. A slow and sad piece.Full score, and individual parts.

Classical,Renaissance. Recorder Ensemble. 69 pages. Drachen Music #686911. Published by Drachen Music (A0.1083513). The Cantigas de Santa Maria, or “Canticles of Holy Maryâ€, is a collection of over 400 poems set to music. The text of the Cantigas is written in the medieval Galician-Portuguese language. The poems were collected during the reign of Alfonso X of Castile El Sabio (1221–1284) and are characterized by the fact that every one of them mentions the Virgin Mary (with over 300 being about miracles) and that every tenth poem in the collection is an actual hymn. Alfonso sent scribes throughout the region to collect these poems and thus it is not only one of the largest collections of monophonic songs from the Middle Ages it is also one of the first mass collections of living culture in history. Though all are attributed to Alfonso, it has been determined that much of the musical notation, scribing, and illumination was completed by artisans of his court.  This collection FEATURES arrangments with FULL SCORE and INDIVIDUAL PARTS for CSM 011 - CSM 020 (10 Cantigas) as interpreted by the Arranger from the original mensural motation into a performance quality arrangement for SATB recorders.
