Released by European label Bella Union on July 21, 2008, the single was issued on 7 vinyl as well as digital MP3 format. The B-side is the non-album track Isles. In 2014 it was also covered by an A Cappella group Pentatonix on their album That's Christmas to Me which is where this arrangement is taken from.

Nisi Dominus Rv 608 is an 18th century sacred cantata by Antonio Vivaldi, written in the early 1700s for the Ospedale della Pietà. It is a psalmody with string instruments from the 10th century BCE psalm 127 by the prophet Solomon, king of Israel, from the Bible's book of Psalms, on the theme of faith and belief in the Christian mystery.

It was written for the musical Oh, Kay! (1926), with the part originally sung on Broadway by English actress Gertrude Lawrence while holding a rag doll in a sentimental solo scene. The song was recorded by Frank Sinatra in 1946 for his first album The Voice Of Frank Sinatra, and again in 1954 for the film Young At Heart. Sinatra's popular recordings helped cement the standard slow style. Someone to Watch Over Me was notably covered by Ella Fitzgerald (1951), Chet Baker (1955), Sarah Vaughan (1957) and Dakota Staton (1960).

The version by Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd (from the album Jazz Samba) was a major hit in 1962, reaching number 15 and number 4 on Billboard′s pop and easy-listening charts, respectively; their definitive rendering also reached number 11 in the UK. Ella Fitzgerald's version made number 38.

Thanks, John.  Midnight Sun (1954) was originally an instrumental composed by Lionel Hampton and Sonny Burke in 1947 and is now considered a jazz standard. Subsequently, Johnny Mercer wrote the words to the song. One famous recording of the song with the Mercer lyrics is by Ella Fitzgerald on her 1957 album Like Someone in Love.
