Greensleeves to a Ground, theme and eight (8) variations on an old English folksong/ renaissance tune with guitar chords. Suitable for any C-instrument. A broadside ballad by the name A Newe Northen Dittye of ye Ladye Greene Sleves was registered by Richard Jones at the London Stationer's Company in September 1580,and the tune is found in several late-16th-century and early-17th-century sources, such as Ballet's MS Lute Book and Het Luitboek van Thysius, as well as various manuscripts preserved in the Seeley Historical Library in the University of Cambridge.

The Twelve Days of Christmas is an English Christmas carol that enumerates in the manner of a cumulative song a series of increasingly grand gifts given on each of the twelve days of Christmas (the twelve days that make up the Christmas season, starting with Christmas Day). The song, published in England in 1780 without music as a chant or rhyme, is thought to be French in origin. The Twelve Days of Christmas has a Roud Folk Song Index number of 68. The tunes of collected versions vary. The standard tune now associated with it is derived from a 1909 arrangement of a traditional folk melody by English composer Frederic Austin, who introduced the familiar prolongation of the verse five gold rings (now often five golden rings).


This arrangement is from Ray Conniff's version. It is in the key of E Major.

Although Rollins is commonly credited as its composer, the tune is based on the traditional Bahamian folksong Sponger Money and the traditional English song The Lincolnshire Poacher.
