Instrumental Duet Alto Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589466 By Dave Koz & Kelly Sweet. By Irving Berlin. Arranged by David McKeown. Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday,Jazz. Score and parts. 3 pages. David McKeown #6071965. Published by David McKeown (A0.589466). White Christmas is one of the best loved of all Christmas songs. While sung by countless artists over the years, it is synonymous with its original performer, Bing Crosby, who nailed the original recording with orchestra and singers in under eighteen minutes. Written by Irving Berlin in 1941, the song reached its audience via the 1942 movie bearing the same name. This version, arranged as a duet for one Flute and one Alto Flute, is true to the original in structure and feel. There are two verses, one reflecting Crosby’s free phrasing, and the second, copying the stricter phrasing of the singers and orchestra.Musicians at an intermediate standard will find this ideal for formal and informal Christmas performances, with both parts enjoying plenty of interest. There are a few moderately difficult rhythms and some less familiar accidentals. Total performance time is around three minutes. The short audio sample is from the Clarinet and Alto Saxophone version while the full-length performance on the youtube link is the Clarinet Duet.Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to approach expressive playing. Alto Flute,Instrumental Duet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.551180 Composed by Wilhelm Friedemann Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Classical,Instructional,Standards,Wedding. 24 pages. Jmsgu3 #5002715. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.551180). Duet No. 1 - F. 54 Duration ca. 11:15 Contents: I. Allegro II. Larghetto III. VivaceThe history of W. F. Bach's Duets F. 54 is rooted in the 18th century and is part of a collection of six duets for two flutes, including F. 55–59. These duets are considered among the finest examples of the genre from the 18th century and are significant as they showcase the composer's talent and contribution to chamber music. The exact dates of composition for these duets are not definitively known, but there is strong evidence that the last two duets, including F. 54, were composed in the last decade of W.F. Bach's life when he lived in Berlin. The duets are characterized by refined nuances, interwoven two-part writing, and rapid outer movements, demonstrating a range of musical expression and technical proficiency. Wilhelm Friedemann Bach (1710–1784) was a German composer, organist, harpsichordist, and Johann Sebastian Bach's eldest son.
