There is a brief transition in measure 21, then the second flute takes over the Mueller melody. The first flute switches to an accompaniment role, but in measure 27 begins playing the Cradle Song, which is a version often heard in England. Both voices take turns with their respective melodies and accompaniments, bringing both melodies together from measure 43 to the end.
